See how the devil wanted to disgrace himself.
So here I was in my weekly operations team meeting, looking on point as usual and acting very professional.
Today I decided to only switch my camera on when I am speaking. So to the best of my knowledge my camera and mic were off. So after introducing myself I switched off my camera and mic . I was listening attentively to the discussion while, snacking on some cashew nut and flicking through my phone messages.
My personal mobile phone started to ring. I declined the call and looked up to check if my mic and camera were off. You know how you feel paranoid that your colleagues are watching you even though the camera is off…. anyway my camera and mic were off….
Then my phone rang a second time. It was another phone number. I was still with my phone in my my hand flicking through messages… thinking my camera and mic were off. I didn’t recognise the number calling me and I almost picked up the call until I remembered that I was actually in a meeting. So I declined the call…
Having declined the call, I then looked up once again to check the status of my camera and mic. Again feeling paranoid. To my shock and horror I found my camera and mic were ON🙆🏾♀️
I was in full view of everyone… they could all see me chewing on my nuts one by one and texting.
I pretended like I was not shocked to my bones🙆🏾♀️..
All I could think was thank God I did not pick the 2nd call… turns out it was my 83yr old dad who would have been repeating his sentences to me.
Other situations i could have been seen in flashed in my mind. Just the thought of it now makes me shudder.
Anyway needless to say that I contained my surprise. I simply continued chewing on my nuts one by one… texting… and trying to look composed.
