Pele was renting a room from his friend who was renting the two bedroom boy's quarters to a house. He had a single mattress on the floor, and the toilet was located outside the room, in the compound😳. As in, outside outside toilet🙆🏿♀️.
As an ajekpako, I would wake him up in the middle of the night to escort me to the toilet outside in the wilderness 🙈.
You know, as a young lady, I was surrounded by aunties who were married to wealthy men🤐. I listened to their discussions at the kitchen table. Their situationship did not leave a good impression on me. So my one wish to God, was to start from scratch with the man I would choose to marry.
Thats how I found myself sleeping on the mattress on the floor. We have always been compatible in a strange way. Extremely tolerant of each other.
Anyway Pele proposed that same weekend, down on one knee, with the ring pull from a can of coke 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Ofcourse I said yes. We got married the following year, 29 April 2000.
